Created By the artist Suteki Tita (Portuguese) and the self-taught artist UC (half Catalan half Canarian), Dollolandia is a space where some peculiar, misfits, and anyone else who’s uniquely awesome and creative, live together, to give life to unusual objects, which celebrates what makes each one of us a little eccentric & weird, that part of us that doesn’t fit well and secretly is not even trying. This is a world full of creatures that are a little strange & different from the mass-produced world, that wants everyone to fit in and align. These quirks give us permission to celebrate what makes us unique – and surprising!
This exhibition entitled “Bizarre & freaking beautiful Stories”, presentes different projects like the “Quirky Girls” and “Strange Faces”, among others, that like to contradict the excessively realistic view of so-called normal and feed our dreams with humor and magic, which combine the dreamlike with the macabre, forge a cast of strange and hybrid, endearingly misfit creatures that project our own feelings of alienation, making us laugh at a childhood we thought we had left behind and that manage to captivate us with their strangeness.
